This was part of a recent discussion on the SRESafeHaven mailing list at Yahoo Groups. It has been reprinted her with Marie's explicit consent. Click on the photo to see a larger version.Step 1 - Begin approximately 1.5" up the ribbon and make one wrap for the French Knot. Step 2 - Weave the needle in and out of the ribbon, down toward the fabric, starting with short gaps and progressing to larger gaps farther down. Step 3 - Insert needle into fabric a few threads away from your ribbon's "up" point, set the knot on the needle, then pull the needle through until the knot is anchored. You can vary the size of these knots by increasing the length of ribbon you leave between the fabric and the French Knot. The last pic shows 1.5", 2" & 2.5". Samples were done using Vikki Clayton's Pansy ribbon! Try em....you'll LOVE them! Hugs... Marie (Edited for style only.) |
