Amy's Scissors Fob SwapAmysFob.jpg (230451 bytes)

Please email your lovely hostess Amy to sign up for this swap.

This is a finished item swap for a fob that can be attached to a pair of scissors.

Anything suitable to be attached to a pair of embroidery scissors.  Ideally, a fob should be slightly heavier than the scissors, so that when the scissors fall, they will not land on their delicate points.  However, some people do not like the extra weight when they use their scissors and you fob may be lighter.  Take care that your fob can be easily pulled through its own strap, so that the fob can be looped onto any pair of scissors.

You can use any method or materials to complete your fob.  Ask your partner before you employ jewelry findings or hardware for connecting the fob.  Although a lobster claw clasp may be very functional, it might mar or scratch the scissors when attached and used.

There are many methods and designs for making scissor fobs!  Check the bottom of this page for examples, samples and ideas.

Ask you partner what interests them!  Since this is planned as part of a series of swaps, make sure that you ask your partner about color and style, since the items will all be used together.

You are NOT expected to send a pair of scissors, just the fob.

Who can participate:

This swap is open to all SRESafeHaven list members in good standing.  International swappers are VERY welcome here! Contact Amy by email to sign up or if you have further questions.  Let me know if you are willing to swap internationally, because International swappers are always WELCOMED!!!

How to join:

Simply send an email to Amy at the address above no later than September 14, 2002.  Make sure you let her know if you are willing to swap internationally and if you would like more than one partner.  Also, let Amy know if you are willing to substitute in case someone drops out.

Partner assignments:

Partners will be randomly assigned on September 15, 2002. You will be contacted by the hostess via email with the name and email address of your partner for this swap.  The names will also be listed here as a reference.  You will be expected to email your partner directly regarding physical mail addresses and preferences.

Deadline for completion:

The finished scissors fob should be in the mail by October 31, 2002.

Drop-out Policy:

There is a "no questions asked" drop out policy.  Just let Amy know if you cannot complete the assignment once made.

Incentives for timely completion:

A special "box of goodies" including beads, charms, and other fun stuff to add to your SRE projects.  Furnished by your lovely hostess Amy.

All participants who complete and mail their finished item on time will be eligible to win this random drawing.
